A tradition of durability
Since its founding, C + P has developed and successfully brought countless product innovations to market together with its customers. Much has changed over this time, but one constant has remained: the C + P quality level, which has long become a trademark. This quality is reflected throughout the entire process chain – from material procurement through manufacturing and coating to the delivery and assembly of our products.
Milestones past and present
Breidenbach location
- In 1925, Wilhelm Christmann and Otto Pfeifer founded the company Christmann, Pfeifer & Co. in the Hessian hinterland to manufacture sheet metal and steel products for the construction industry.
- In the years following the Great Depression, the production halls were expanded and the manufacturing of steel lockers began.
- By the end of 1946, the C + P group of companies had 244 employees.
- In 1949, after the departure of Dr. Siebeneicher, who was appointed managing director by the American military government, Jacob Hainbach took over the management.
- Under the overall leadership of Jacob Hainbach, the next generation took on divisional responsibility in the 1960s – commercial clerk Horst Hainbach for the furniture division and Dipl. Kfm. Walter Pfeifer for the steel construction division. Both advanced the technical development in their respective divisions and transformed the company, previously characterized by artisanal methods, into a high-performance industrial operation. At the end of the 1960s, Horst Hainbach facilitated a significant leap in growth in the furniture division by acquiring a customer base from a subsidiary of the Schaffgotsch Group, significantly expanding the reach of C + P products in Germany and the Netherlands. Since then, Christmann & Pfeifer has been defined by two equally important divisions.
- In 1971, the construction of a production hall for steel furniture manufacturing marked a realignment of the company. The aim was to gradually offer the entire production portfolio for a building, including furniture and more.
- 2006 Expansion of modern logistics following the establishment of C + P Logistics
- 2016 Construction of the C + P office world (Bürowelt), a modern exhibition and work environment for employees
- Breidenbach is the main plant, responsible for component manufacturing
- Logistics location with 40 of its own trucks and 80 furniture trailers, along with an administrative location focusing on sales, marketing and product development
Gotha location
- Founded in 1877, the company based in Gotha was the most renowned steel furniture manufacturer prior to the outbreak of World War II.
- In 1949, in the former GDR, the successful company became the “publicly owned” (VEB) “Gothaer Metallwarenfabrik”
- Following the German reunification, the company was on the brink of closure In 1991, C + P took over and secured numerous jobs
- Today the company’s site has a footprint of 16,000 m² with plenty of options for expansion
- Highly automated volume plant with industrial manufacturing
- 2023 Grand opening of the new, fully automated production line in Gotha
Legnica location
- Founded in 2000 with the aim of opening up markets in Eastern Europe

From the region, for the region
Founded by Wilhelm Christmann and Otto Pfeifer in 1925, the company had its origins in a Wallau forge/locksmith's shop that produced sheet metal parts and building fittings. The company soon moved to a larger site on the B253 between Breidenstein and Breidenbach at the junction to Wiesenbach, where steel hall construction became the core product.

Steel forms the basis of all our products. No other material has as many positive properties when it comes to the stability, design and lasting value of storage furniture. What's more, steel makes an important contribution to conserving resources. The material can be melted down again and again and used for new purposes without any loss of quality. Incidentally, half of all steel in Germany is now made from this secondary raw material.

BIONIC Steel Frame
For the new PLUS steel cabinet series, C + P has developed a design that sets new standards in stability and resource conservation. The models in the series are reinforced at critical points and feature a sophisticated internal structure of folds, braces and spaces, similar to a tree leaf. This results in increased torsional rigidity while using fewer raw materials and resources.
